Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
HBOT is an FDA-approved “drug” that promotes non-specific biological repair. Delivering 100% oxygen at high atmospheric pressure, it is the only non-hormonal FDA-approved treatment that is known to repair and regenerate human tissue. During this therapy, the patient is fully enclosed in a chamber and given 100-300% oxygen (compared to the 21% we typically breathe from the air). This allows the oxygen to fully saturate the blood and the tissues, particularly areas of injury and/or poor blood supply. Hyperbaric Oxygen is effective for speeding up the healing of the brain, bones, soft tissue, heart, liver, etc. It is beneficial in treating many conditions including:
- Autism
- Burns & Wounds
- Cancer
- Chronic Infections (e.g. Lyme Disease)
- Concussion & Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Neurological Disorders (e.g. Alzheimer’s, MS, Parkinson’s, seizure disorders)
- Post-Surgical Recovery
- Radiation Injury
Neurofeedback/EEG Biofeedback
An EEG is a test that monitors the brain’s electrical activity. Electrodes are attached to the scalp to monitor brain waves and help diagnose irregular brain activity. Neurofeedback takes the process a step further. As brainwaves are tracked, feedback signals respond to irregular activity, helping to re-wire brain circuits. Neurofeedback is a beneficial diagnostic and therapeutic tool for the following conditions:
- Addiction
- ADHD
- Anxiety & Depression
- Competition & Performance Sports
- Epilepsy & other seizure disorders
- Insomnia & sleep-related disorders
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
IV Nutritional Therapy
Intravenous (IV) therapy is an effective way to deliver hydration, nutrients, and medications to the body. This method ensures optimal absorption because it bypasses the digestive tract and improves levels much more efficiently than oral administration. We offer many types of IV therapies for both treating medical conditions and optimizing performance including:
- Nutrient IV Therapy (amino acids, B-vitamins, vitamin C, minerals): energy/metabolism, muscle growth and repair, sports recovery
- Glutathione: detoxification, muscle fatigue, Parkinson’s Disease
- NAD+ Therapy: anti-aging, brain health, energy/metabolism, sports recovery
- Ozone (Major Autohemotherapy): anti-aging, autoimmune, cancer, chronic infections, neurodegenerative disease, performance
Peptide Therapy
Peptides are sequences of amino acids that make up proteins in the body and serve as signaling molecules. Peptides have been studied for many functions all the way from anti-aging to neurological repair. Peptide Therapy is a very safe and effective method in which specific peptides are administered (oral, injectable, or intranasal) to target receptors and stimulate cellular repair, hormonal regulation, and several other healing processes. This therapy can often be a great option for those who want to improve their physical and neurological health. Some of the most common peptides we use for body and performance optimization include:
- BPC-157
- CJC-1295
- Epitalon
- Ipamorelin
- Selank
- Semax
- Tesamorelin
- Thymosin Beta-4
Brain Rehabilitation Exercise
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to adjust, grow, and reorganize neurological connections at any stage of life. Grounded in research on neuroplasticity, we use brain rehabilitation techniques that are evidence-based and individualized to each patient. These therapies support the brain’s ability to stimulate repair and form new neural pathways. To put it simply, brain rehabilitation is essentially “physical therapy” for the brain. Some examples of exercises that may be used to improve brain function include head and eye movements, hand-eye coordination, and gentle nerve stimulation. Dr. Karissa is also currently working on a board certification in Functional Neurology, a system that utilizes such techniques to develop a comprehensive assessment and targeted treatment plan to optimize the patient’s neurological health.
